You’ve heard the term and nod when someone asks if you’ve downloaded the latest and greatest app. But, in reality, the technology lingo has skipped a generation or two leaving some of us confused and out-of-the-loop. You might not even know what you’re agreeing to!
An app is simply computer software, or a program, used for mobile devices like your smartphone or iPad. When you’re on the go, you sometimes can’t drag your computer with you, so apps (or applications) have been created to easily guide you at your fingertips!
The term refers to small programs that can be downloaded and installed immediately. There are thousands of apps designed to run on today’s smartphones and tablets. Some apps can be downloaded for free, like the Boat Fix Pro app, while others must be purchased from an app store.
Don’t let technology intimidate you. If you’re not familiar or comfortable with the Boat Fix Pro app, no worries! We’re here to help! A member of our team is ready to walk you through the simple step-by-step instructions until you feel confident. It’s our mission to make sure you feel safe and secure when it comes to your boat.
The Boat Fix Pro app makes it easy to remotely monitor your boat at the touch of a finger! Whether you’re actually on the water or relaxing in a lounge chair, you can always see how your boat behaves right from the comfort of your home.
Low Battery? Find out prior to your day out on the water so you can have your battery charged before friends and family climb aboard.
Bilge Pump on overdrive? There’s nothing worse than showing up to your boat when it’s taken on water. Thankfully, Boat Fix remotely monitors the run time of your bilge pump and we will soon know if there’s an issue.
Shore Power Disconnected? It can happen quite by accident. If there was a power outage at the marina, a tripped breaker, or a bad connection, Boat Fix will let you know immediately! No more tepid refrigerators, soggy ice cubes — or dead batteries.
Geofence Breach? One of the great things about the Boat Fix app is that it allows you to put a 100-yard invisible “fence” around your boat whether it’s in the slip or on a trailer.
Theft? It unfortunately happens and most of the time when boats are on the trailer right in your own backyard. Once you receive the geofence breach alarm, simply slide the PROTECT BREACH button to on in your Boat Fix app. We’ll monitor your asset in real-time every four seconds and your boat’s information will immediately be downloaded into a Stolen Asset Recovery System alerting local authorities to the news.
You’ll get those 24/7 alarm notifications by phone, email, or text. You choose the way you’d like to communicate, but rest assured, the moment you hit the Contact Boat Fix button, we’ll answer immediately and guide you through your questions.
